FRESNO, CA -- The nation is about to celebrate its 241st birthday, and it's time to watch the glorious explosions we know as fireworks. Events in the Fresno area range from simple fireworks shows to day-long extravaganzas.

- Madera Speedway Fireworks Show
- Races begin at 4:45 p.m., fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m. $7 to $15, kids five and under are free.

- Begins after dark, Wild Water Adventure Park. $17 to $35.
Monday, July 3
- Anderson Field Fireworks Show
- Caruthers High School. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

- Festival of the American Spirit.
- Kerman High School Stadium. Gates open at 6 p.m. Kids activities, food, vendors, entertainment. Fireworks at 9:20 p.m.

- Fireworks Spectacular
- Over Shaver Lake at dusk. Preceded by boat parade. Free entry.
Monday, July 3
- Independence Day Celebration
- Selma. Starts at 6 p.m. Music and food at Staley Stadium. Fireworks later. Adults are $5, kids five to 12 are $2, kids four and younger are free.

- Star Spangled Revue
- Begins after dark, Wild Water Adventure Park. $17 to $35.
Tuesday, July 4
- Tachi Palace Fireworks Celebration
- Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino. Event starts at 5 p.m. Live music and entertainment. Fireworks at 9:15 p.m. Free entry.

- Star Spangled Revue
- Begins after dark, Wild Water Adventure Park. $17 to $35.
Tuesday, July 4
- Fireworks Spectacular and Golf Tournament
- Madera Municipal Golf Course. Tournament starts at 8 a.m. Fireworks at dusk. Fireworks are free.
Tuesday, July 4
- Fowler Fabulous Celebration
- Fowler High School Stadium. Event begins at 5 p.m. Live performance by Patrick Contreras, food and a fun zone. Fireworks at dusk. Free event.
Tuesday, July 4
- Freedom Fest
- Clovis High School Lamonica Stadium. Food, drinks, games and live entertainment start at 4 p.m. Fireworks at dusk. $5 for entry.
