Fresno HomeGoods stores “Help Families Fight Cancer” campaign to benefit the Jimmy Fund

(Fresno, CA) From now through June 28, Fresno HomeGoods shoppers will have the opportunity to support cancer care and research while shopping at the off-price home fashions retailer.

More than 415 HomeGoods stores nationwide will be participating in the 16th annual “Help Families Fight Cancer” campaign benefiting the Jimmy Fund, which supports pediatric and adult cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts.

HomeGoods customers can participate by making a contribution at the register to “Help Families Fight Cancer,” with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Jimmy Fund. Customers can also purchase a limited edition reusable shopping bag featuring artwork by Jimmy Fund patients Evan Yu, a 17-year-old (a 16-year old when he designed the bag) junior at Brookline High School in Boston and Aishah Alyammahi, a 15-year-old from the United Arab Emirates. Each of these designs will be available for purchase for $0.99 during the campaign. HomeGoods will contribute $.50 to the Jimmy Fund for each bag purchased.

Evan has designed a colorful blue and green bag with a fish and coral in the ocean. He has acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and finished his active treatment at Dana-Farber’s Jimmy Fund Clinic in January. In his spare time, Evan enjoys kayaking and fishing as well as drawing and watching the Boston Bruins.

Aishah has designed a bright spring-themed bag with a mix of blue, purple, and pink flowers. She began treatment at Dana-Farber’s Jimmy Fund Clinic after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. Aishah loves art and has a unique wheelchair that has flames decorating the wheels. In her free time, Aishah enjoys painting and coloring.
