Fresno Patch asked readers to tell us what their moms mean to them. Read what Erika had to say.

FRESNO, CA — She's the one that loved you first, but mom is much more than that. She’s a friend, a teacher, a counselor, a shoulder to cry on — and maybe one of the toughest women you’ve ever met.

We asked Patch readers in more than 1,000 communities to tell us what their moms mean to them. Nearly 200 people responded, paying tribute not just to moms but sometimes to grandmas, sisters and daughters who deserve recognition for Mother’s Day 2021.

I want you to know that you mean the entire world to me! I would be so lost without you. Not just a mother, you have always been my best friend. Unintimidated sharing and your honest opinion about everything with you throughtout my growing up years have taught me so many precious lessons about life. You have made me the person I am today, professionally and personally. Thank you for being my friend, my supporter, counselor, savior, cook, nurse, and the rock that always stood by me through thick and thin... but the best will always be the role of being my MOM. Through all these years of parenthood and many more to come, you have taught me how to be a better mom to my kids. Mom, I love you, and and no words are enough to explain my love for you. Love always and forever
