Silver Fire In Fresno County 80 Percent Contained

The blaze started just before 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

FRESNO COUNTY, CA — The Silver Fire in Fresno County has burned 58 acres since it started at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Cal Fire officials said. The blaze, which destroyed one structure and prompted evacuations, is about 80 percent contained as of Friday. Mandatory evacuations were ordered Wednesday night along Highway 180 and Silver Lane. All evacuations have since been lifted.

The deadly wildfires raging in Northern California have left at least 32 people dead and many people injured. The massive fires have been fueled by dry weather and howling winds, devastating the region and charring tens of thousands of acres. The fires continued to burn in Napa, Sonoma, Solano, Yuba, Butte, Nevada, Calaveras and Mendocino counties.
