The two siblings, age six and seven, were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

SELMA, CA — Two children are recovering in a hospital after being shot while sitting in the back seat of their parents' car Sunday evening in Selma, KFSN reported.

The two siblings, age six and seven, were in the car with their parents on their way home from church when their car was hit by gunfire before 8 p.m. Sunday. They were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The shooting seemed to be a case of mistaken identity, or the family may have been caught in crossfire, Selma police told KFSN.
