Area 51 Corn Maze Added To Morgan Hill Pumpkin Patch Festivities

MORGAN HILL, CA — As amazing as it seems, it's hard to imagine how pumpkin enthusiast could come up with another way to present the orange orb in another captivating way. But Spina Farms has taken the excitement surrounding it to a new level. And some would say the activities are out of this world.

How about shooting it out of a cannon?

That's the latest new activity this year as a new take to the pumpkin catapult.

The other new activity may drive a participant bonkers — the giant Area 51 Corn Maze in the Coyote Valley farm field where Santa Teresa Boulevard meets Bailey Avenue between Gilroy and San Jose in rural Santa Clara County. Area 51 is a federal government site in remote Nevada where the extra terrestrial is allegedly kept.

There's also a train tour of the patch, which includes 60 varieties of pumpkins and is bordered by bright yellow sunflowers.

The Spina Farms Pumpkin Patch, which is billed as a tradition for south county residents and visitors, opens Saturday with all its splendor and runs through October.
