Authorities Seek To ID Driver Killed In Accident South Of Gilroy

The driver, traveling northbound on Highway 101, went off the road, down an embankment and collided with a tree on Wednesday morning.

GILROY, CA — Authorities are working to identify a driver who died in a crash early Wednesday morning on Highway 101 south of the Sargent over-crossing near Gilroy.

The driver, traveling northbound on the highway, went off the road, down an embankment and collided with a tree. The vehicle caught fire due to the collision.

The California Highway Patrol hasn’t determined if drugs or alcohol factored into the accident.
