Bell-bottoms and Blackberries at this Week’s Farmers Market

The recent round of cool mornings that have given Gilroy a break from the summer heat wave also held up the debut of fresh tomatoes and corn, but Farmers Market coordinator Catalina Ventura said that foodies have nothing to fear with the fresh berries and other items coming to market this Sunday.

And a treat for the ears: Tim Moon will bring classic rock, complete with bell-bottoms, to the market.

Visit the market at 7341 Monterey St. from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. Sunday.

Here is what is on the table this week:

Fresh from the farm: Miramonte Farms and Katie Teresi bring fresh produce at reasonable prices.

Local apricots: Van Dyke Ranch and Eric Van Dyke brings Gilroy-grown Blenheim apricots all sorts of dried fruits.

Berries galore: Strawberries, raspberries and blackberries from Vasquez farm go quickly, so go early!

More variety: La Milpa has a variety of seasonal produce, including crisp cucumbers, berries and squash.
