Bomb Squad Clears Explosive Device Found In Gilroy Roadway

GILROY, CA — Santa Teresa Boulevard in Gilroy was reopened on Tuesday night after a Santa Clara County bomb squad determined that an explosive device found in the roadway was safe.

Shortly before 5 p.m., the Gilroy Police Department sent out an alert stating that Santa Teresa Boulevard was closed in both directions between Day Road and Fitzgerald Avenue due to a “suspicious object” in the road.

Around 8 p.m., the department said the road was back open.
