California High Speed Rail Meeting On Track For Gilroy
The Aug. 22 open house will review the proposed rail project in which Gilroy would be situated between a San Jose and Pacheco Pass Tunnel.

GILROY, CA — Whether maligned or revered, the California High-Speed Rail project is in need of input from Gilroy area residents to stay on track with the state's ambitious plans for the 220mph bullet train.
The authority that manages the project in the billions of dollars is hosting an open house on Aug. 22 at 5 p.m. to discuss the two rail sections between Merced and San Jose onto San Francisco. The state has considered starting the Northern California end before Southern California's that is anchored in San Diego.
In September 2019, staff will present their recommendations to the authority board of directors.
