Fatal Gilroy Crash Victim Identified As Morgan Hill Man
The deadly Monday morning crash occurred on U.S. Highway 101 north of Monterey Road when the victim lost control of his vehicle.
GILROY, CA -- A Morgan Hill man identified as Raul Bueno Jr. was the victim of a fatal crash early Monday morning in Gilroy, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.
The crash happened at about 12:40 a.m. on northbound U.S. Highway 101 north of Monterey Road. Bueno was driving a 2007 Nissan Titan truck when he lost control and drove off the west edge of the highway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
His truck hit a wood and metal guardrail in the center divide and overturned, coming to rest on its right side and pinning him inside. Emergency responders extricated him from the truck but Bueno was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the fatal crash is under investigation and the CHP said neither drugs nor alcohol are not suspected to have played a role.
