Fire Vs Police Chili Cook Off To Heat Up Gilroy
The event to be staged at the Stomping Ground will feature music, fun and flights of chili from those entered in the contest.
GILROY, CA — What agency is the hottest?
That's the prevailing question Gilroy may ask as the embattled chili cook off between the police department and fire crews will be underway in the southern Santa Clara County town, with the winner receiving bragging rights.
The hot event will be staged Sept. 21 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Stomping Ground located at 6500 Brem Lane in Gilroy.

There's of course chili til your heart's delight, with the option to get a flight of chili for $20 that includes all the entries and a "People's Choice" voting ticket.
Barbecue is also on the menu as well as music from noon to 2:30 p.m. by "Steel Horse," a Bon Jovi tribute band, as well as Blue Rock Tonic, which plays the classics from the 1980s and 90s to close the place down from 3 to 6 p.m.
