Free Boba For Santa Clara County Youth Who Get Vaccinated

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — As part of an effort to encourage children to get vaccinated for COVID-19, Santa Clara County officials are giving out free boba tea to those ages 12 to 17 after they get their shot.

Here are the list of drop-in sites offering free boba with a vaccine:

• May 19: Edenvale Elementary School (San Jose), 1 p.m. - 8 p.m.
• May 20: Boynton High School (San Jose), 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
• May 21: Adrian Wilcox High School (Santa Clara), 12:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
• May 21: Gilroy High School (Gilroy), 2 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
• May 24: Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit High School (San Jose), 11:30 p.m. - 5 p.m.
• May 25: Andrew P. Hill High School (San Jose), 11:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.
• May 26: Oak Grove High School (San Jose), 11:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
• May 27: Gilroy High School (Gilroy), 2 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

County officials are taking steps to promote the vaccine among youth, who only recently became eligible to receive the vaccine. Last week, they held promotional events at Levi's Stadium, offering locker room tours and gift cards to Chipotle and Starbucks.

Children ages 12 to 17 must have a consent form signed by a parent before getting vaccinated.
