Gilroy Cops Awarded State Medal of Valor

GILROY, CA — Three Gilroy police officers who displayed heroism at the 2019 Gilroy Garlic Festival mass shooting were honored by the state earlier this week.

Officers Robert Basuino, Hugo Del Moral, and Eric Cryar were awarded the State of California Governor's Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor for their extraordinary life-saving actions at the Gilroy Garlic Festival on July 28, 2019.

The medals were presented to Officers Basuino and Del Moral by Assistant Chief John Marsh of the California Department of Justice, Division of Law Enforcement.
