Gilroy Police Officer Holds Fundraiser For Special Olympics

"Special Olympics is more than sports," Officer Pat Sullivan wrote on the fundraiser page.

GILROY, CA — A Gilroy police officer is holding a fundraiser for the Special Olympics of Northern California.

Officer Pat Sullivan said on the fundraiser page that the money raised will go towards keeping programs such as the Police in Pursuit event going for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

According to the Gilroy Dispatch, Sullivan plans to participate in the Aug. 13 event and he has raced against other agencies.

"Special Olympics is more than sports," Sullivan wrote. "It changes lives, giving athletes confidence in themselves that carries over into their everyday lives."
