Highway 101 In Gilroy Back Open After Vehicle Hits Power Pole

The CHP didn't report any injuries from the incident.

GILROY, CA — All lanes of Highway 101 in both directions were back open on Monday afternoon in Gilroy after a vehicle hit a power pole and caused live power lines to block lanes.

Caltrans issued a SigAlert on Sunday night, urging drivers to take caution, use other routes and expect major delays. The incident occurred south of Highway 25.

According to the California Highway Patrol, PG&E crews worked on repairing power lines in the area on Monday morning while just one lane was open in both directions. By 2:30 p.m., all lanes were back open.
