GILROY, CA — A multi-car crash Tuesday afternoon seriously injured at least one person and shut down several lanes on southbound Highway 101 south of Gilroy, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash was reported at 1:57 p.m. and all lanes had reopened by 3:20 p.m., according to the CHP.
As many as six vehicles were involved in the crash, according to preliminary CHP logs. An alert advised drivers to expect delays and use alternate routes until the road was reopened.
All lanes were briefly blocked on southbound 101 before the roadway was cleared.
