SFGATE says McDonald's representatives emailed them to confirm the Fries "will be out for the next few weeks."

Here's the statement from McDonald's as posted by SFGATE:

"In less than two weeks, our small, four restaurant test of Gilroy Garlic Fries has been a huge success, and we are now experiencing a temporary shortage of supplies," the statement read. "We are excited about how many people have visited our restaurants to try the fries, and we apologize for any inconvenience to our customers."

According to SFGATE, McDonald's officials say they will resume selling garlic fries "in a few weeks" and will announce its return on its local Twitter account, @McD_BayArea.
