More Rain Expected Thursday As Wetter Storm Heads To Peninsula

A "stronger and wetter" storm is on its way to the Bay Area, on the heels of the rains earlier this week.

BAY AREA, CA — The rain that swept the Peninsula earlier this week will be followed closely by a "stronger and wetter" storm that will hit the Bay Area starting late Wednesday and through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm is expected to reach the coast late Wednesday and move east Thursday, bringing widespread rain, gusty winds, snow in high elevations and possible thunderstorms.

Showers will increase during the day Thursday, with rainfall of up to an inch in most places — but as many as three inches elsewhere. Thunderstorms are also most likely on Thursday, the NWS expects.
