CHP Locates Car Believed Connected To Fatal Hit-and-run

SAN MARTIN, CA — An elderly pedestrian was killed Tuesday night when a vehicle crashed into him and drove off, but the California Highway Patrol has found the vehicle believed to be involved in the fatal crash.

The crash occurred at 9:31 p.m. off Monterey Road south of Cox Avenue near San Martin in the unincorporated area of Santa Clara County, CHP added.

The man's body was found lying in the road.

Officers have located a red 2003 Dodge Neon in an industrial area of Gilroy the following morning. At this time, the Dodge is considered a vehicle of interest in this investigation, CHP reported.

The victim's name is undisclosed as the next of kin is notified.
