Pedestrian Injured, Hospitalized After Hit By Vehicle In Salinas

The crash between the man and vehicle happened off North Main Street at Iris Drive and is under investigation.

SALINAS, CA -- A pedestrian was taken to the hospital with major injuries after a car hit him early Tuesday morning in Salinas, police reported.

The crash happened at about 3:50 a.m. in the area of North Main Street at Iris Drive, according to police, who said a Honda Accord traveling north hit a man who was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk. The man was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery but is still in serious condition, police said. The driver cooperated with officers.

Salinas police are investigating the crash and anyone with information is asked to call officers at (831) 758-7250.
