Person Of Interest In Gilroy Homicide Fatally Shot By Police
Fatal shooting occurred Thursday afternoon in the area of La Pala Drive and McKee Road according to police.
GILROY, CA – The person of interest in a Gilroy homicide suffered fatal wounds Thursday afternoon in an officer-involved shooting, San Jose police said.
The shooting occurred in the area of La Pala Drive and McKee Road according to police.
Multiple officers fired shots and attempted life-saving treatment after the shooting, police said. The person was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The person is also the person of interest in a Morgan Hill shooting and was wanted on weapons charges in San Jose, police said.
He was identified by Gilroy Police Sgt. John Ballard as the person of interest in the Jan. 3 shooting of Russell Anthony Lewis, 35 of Paicines (San Benito County), in the 400 block of Fairview Drive, The Gilroy Dispatch reports.

He is also the person of interest in a Jan. 1 shooting 500 block of Fairview Drive that resulted in property damage with no injuries reported, The Dispatch reports.
Police said a joint investigation with the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office was “in its early stages” and that a media briefing would be held in the coming days.
Lewis is among two people who have been killed this year in Gilroy shootings.
Robert Marks, 21, died from injuries suffered in a Jan. 2 shooting at around 9 p.m. in the area Santa Teresa Boulevard and Mantelli Drive.
