Police Blotter: Barber Shop Pole Stolen

Friday, Aug. 16

DUI Crash: A 66-year-old man was arrested for a drunken driving crash on Mantelli Drive and Santa Teresa Boulevard. 

Dog Bite: Reported on Forest Street around noon.

Vehicle Break-in: A locked Jeep parked at Denny's on San Ysidro Avenue was burglarized. A video camera, digital camera, iPod and a zoom lens were stolen.

Vehicle Break-in: A window of a Ford van was smashed. Cash, medications, electronics and luggage were taken.

Theft: An iPod was stolen on Camino Arroyo.

Fraud: It was reported on Rosanna Street around 3:30 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 15

Theft: A car stereo was reported stolen on Driftwood Terrace. It was later recovered.

Theft: The red- and white-striped pole was stolen from outside of Franks Barber Shop on Monterey Street overnight. It's worth $4,000.

Shoplifting: A 42-year-old woman was arrested for stealing bras and T-shirts from a shop on Camino Arroyo around 1:30 p.m.

Trespassing: A 58-year-old man was arrested on First Street around 3:45 p.m.

Shoplifting: Two people were detained for stealing toys from a store on Camino Arroyo.

Car Break-in: A 36-year-old man was arrested for breaking into a vehicle on Arroyo Circle. A Microsoft tablet was stolen. 

Wednesday, Aug. 14
Gun Possession: A 57-year-old man was arrested for having a pistol while he was out walking on Monterey Street around 2:30 p.m. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle. 

Shoplifting: A thief tried to steal dishes from a store by hiding them in another box.

Drunk in Public: A 55-year-old man was arrested for being drunk on Arroyo Cirlce around 5 p.m. 

Shoplifting: Two people were arrested for trying to steal Jose Cuervo and Jack Daniels from the Super Walmart.

Vandalism: Teens threw paint about a school property on IOOF Avenue and also had marijuana and tobacco on them.

Tuesday, Aug. 13
Parolee Arrested: He punched his pregnant girlfriend and was arrested on Alexander Street around 1 a.m.

Burglary Tools: A 39-year-old man was arrested on Long Meadow Drive.

Vehicle burglary: A purse was stolen on Church Street.

Attempted Car Theft: A thief tried unsuccessfully to steal a Honda Accord parked on Long Meadow Drive overnight.

Dog Bite: It happened on Rosanna Street around 2:20 p.m.

Animal Cruelty: It was reported on West Las Animas Avenue around 3 p.m.

Car Burglary: A lunch bag was stolen from a Ford SUV parked on East Tenth Street.

Drunk in Public: A 56-year-old man was arrested on Carmel and Second streets.

Fraud: It was reported on Camino Arroyo around noon.
