Police Release Images of Car Connected to Abduction Case
Police believe that the duo suspected of abducting a one-month-old infant last month are using the car.
Morgan Hill Police have released images of a car connected with the duo suspected of abducting one-month-old Mariana Corona Vidal last month.
The two suspects, 33-year-old Maribel Mejia and Enrique Rocha, have been using the “late-model Toyota Camry” since abandoning the Infinity sedan they reportedly stole in Morgan Hill on March 31, police said.
The young infant was in the stolen vehicle, prompting an Amber Alert and an intensive four-hour search that ended when a passerby discovered the car and the infant in Salinas.

The mother, Maribel Corona, emerged to find that her car–and her child–were missing. Reports indicated that Corona had left her keys in the car while she went inside.
Authorities recovered both the child and the vehicle in Salinas three hours later, but Corona’s purse remained missing.
It was the following day, June 1, that surveillance footage showed Mejia using Corona’s stolen credit card in Los Banos, accompanied by Rocha and Mejia’s four-year-old son, police said.
A $120,000 arrest warrant has been issued for Mejia for the charges of vehicle theft, kidnapping, child endangerment and possession of stolen property. There is no warrant for Rocha, as police could not positively identify him, according to the release.
