Police Release Video Of Downtown Morgan Hill Shooting Suspect

A shooting suspect in Morgan Hill is captured fleeing the downtown scene on surveillance video. Police hope you recognize the person.

MORGAN HILL, CA - Police have released a brief video clip of a suspect seen fleeing the scene of a shooting Saturday night in downtown Morgan Hill, hoping you will recognize the person.

According to Morgan Hill police, officers responded at 11:15 p.m. on July 16th to 17305 Monterey Rd on a "shots fired" call.

Police say when officers arrived, they were told a white man approximately 5 foot 10 inches tall and wearing a black baseball cap fired a handgun toward a group of vehicles parked on Monterey Rd.

The suspect was next seen running south on Monterey Rd. towards 5th St., according to Morgan Hill police.

Police say no victims were located at the scene, but they did find evidence of 9 rounds fired into various vehicles on Saturday night near Monterey and 3rd St..

The suspect was further described as wearing a dark sweatshirt, a red shirt, dark pants and white shoes.

Morgan Hill Police is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information concerning the shooting to call Detective Fernando Del Moral of the Morgan Hill Police Department, 669-253-4964, or the anonymous tip line at 408-947-STOP (7867).
