Private school visits GranVida Senior Living & Memory Care

More than 30 students from The Howard School in Carpinteria visited senior residents

(CARPINTERIA, Calif.) —October 19, 2018 – Residents at GranVida Senior Living and Memory Care received a special treat: A visit from 36 students from The Howard School in Carpinteria. The kids, who ranged from age preschool to first grade, had such a great experience with their recent Grandparents Day celebration at the school that they wanted to continue the fun by sharing it with other members of the community.

“The purpose of the visit to GranVida was to enrich our students’ lives by connecting them with members of the community, as well as bring happiness to the residents at GranVida,” said Anita Betancourt, Executive Assistant for The Howard School.

Bentancourt said the visit was enjoyable and unique in many ways but greatly enjoyed seeing how happy the students and residents were participating in activities together. She also said it’s a visit that she’s sure the students and residents will never forget and would like to visit again soon. “It was very special seeing the smiles on the resident’s faces and to see them sing along with our students,” said Bentancourt.
