Projected Timeline For Gilroy Unified School District Return To School Announcement
The GUSD fall reopening plans will be posted on the district's website by the middle of July.

On June 30, 2020, the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE), in partnership with the Santa Clara County Public Health Department (PHD) issued preliminary guidance for staff and students’ return to school in the fall 2020 due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the next ten days, the Gilroy Unified School District Fall 2020 Planning Committee, under the direction of Superintendent Dr. Deborah Flores, will reconvene, study the guidance and finalize plans for the fall reopening. The GUSD fall reopening plans will be posted on the district’s website by the middle of July. Additionally, information about the reopening will be sent to the media, shared in email communications to GUSD staff and families, and on the various GUSD social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter).
The GUSD Fall 2020 Planning Committee is made up of more than 30 members including district office administration, maintenance, nurses, special education staff, teachers from elementary and secondary schools, counselors, principals, leaders from the three bargaining units, communications, facilities, transportation, the school board, information technology, and support staff. Parents and guardians of current GUSD students will be asked to provide additional input.
