SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — Santa Clara County announced Wednesday evening that it will begin offering COVID-19 vaccinations to youth ages 12 to 15 at all locations countywide.

The Food and Drug Administration cleared the way for those as young as 12 years old to receive the Pfizer vaccine earlier this week, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended its use on Wednesday.

“This is fantastic news,” said Dr. Sara Cody, the county's public health officer, in a news release. “The Pfizer vaccine is safe and effective, and I’m thrilled that more of our young people can now get vaccinated to protect themselves, protect their community, and safely return to more activities.”
