There is a spirit blowing around & it feels good
For a long time people have pushed for a revival in Downtown Gilroy. Back in the ’80s, a group advocated for a downtown revival but the timing was just not right. Since then a few glimmers of hope popped up in the form of new restaurants in the Old City Hall, new construction projects and a variety of special events. Then came the streetscape and the Downtown Specific Plan. After the recession (bank and housing bust), things became more depressed. But in the last several months, things have taken a favorable turn.
