Two Suspects Flee Robbery in Stolen Car

Gilroy police are searching for two suspects who stole beer from a Monterey Street liquor store and robbed the clerk on Saturday, police said.

The suspects reportedly tore the necklace off of the clerk at , 9305 Monterey St., robbing him of his driver’s license and paycheck at 10:30 p.m. They also stole two eighteen-packs of beer, said police.

The vehicle used in the reported getaway, a gray Honda Accord, matched the license plate and description of a vehicle stolen in San Benito County, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further information about the suspects or the case is available at this time, said Gilroy Police spokesman Chad Gallacinao.
