Weekend Crime: Garlic Festival Pickpocket and Kohl's Grand Theft

The Gilroy Police Department was super busy over the Garlic Festival weekend.

July 28:

Vehicle Theft: A 2000 Honda Civic was stolen from the Panera parking lot at 1:50 a.m.

Vehicle Theft: A 2000 Honda motorcycle was stolen from the Sobrato Apartments at 6 a.m.

Animal Bite: There were two loose Boxers and one bit a person on the hand on East 10th Street at 12:39 p.m.

Possession of Narcotics/Paraphernalia: East Sixth Street, 6:53 p.m. 

July 27:


Assault: A 27-year-old woman slapped, bit and scratched the father of her child on Liman Avenue at 3:42 a.m.

Trespassing: Six people were arrested on Monterey Street at 7 a.m.

Auto Burglary: First Street, 10:30 a.m.

Grand Theft: Nearly $1,000 in merchandise was stolen from Kohl's by a 48-year-old woman at 1:43 p.m.

Grand Theft: An unknown pickpocket robbed a person at the Gilroy Garlic Festival, making off with $474 in cash, headphones, an mp3 player and a wallet.

Assault: A woman attacked another woman at the party, wrestling her to the ground on Andover Place at 9:35 p.m.
