Would-be Bank Robber Fails in Friday Afternoon Heist

Gilroy Police need help finding the man who attempted the robbery.





A bank robber tried to hold up the Citibank at 7050 Camino Arroyo on Friday afternoon but left the bank without getting any cash, Gilroy Police reported. 

The heist happened at 4:36 p.m. when the robber gave a teller a note demanding money. No weapons were shown, police said. 

The would-be robber fled on foot before officers arrived. Cops rushed to the scene and searched for the suspect.

No arrests have been made. The robber was described as a Latino man, 30-35 years old, approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall. He was wearing a black cap, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and white tennis shoes, police said.
