Glendora Accepting Applications For Commission And Board Openings

The city announced unexpected vacancies have occurred on the Planning Commission and Business Improvement District Advisory Board.

GLENDORA, CA — The City of Glendora is looking to fill a pair of vacancies on its Planning Commission and Business Improvement District Advisory Board.

The terms for both positions expire June 30, 2023, and applications are being accepted now until Aug. 5. Interviews for the positions are expected to begin sometime in late August.

The Planning Commission helps advises the City Council on "land-use policy planning matters" and oversees the residential and commercial development of Glendora, according to a statement from city officials. Qualified applicants for the position must be 18 years or older, registered to vote, and be a resident of Glendora during their time in office.

The Business Improvement District helps local merchants through "promotional activities and beautification" and advises the City Council and planning director on business matters, officials said. To qualify for the advisory board applications must operate a business within Glendora that is in good standing with the city.

Applications for both positions can be picked up at the City Clerk's Office Mondays through Fridays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by visiting Glendora's website. Call 626-914-8210 for more information about both roles.
