GLENDORA, CA — Glendora officials are expected to approve a proposed two-year budget plan for the 2022 and 2023 fiscal years during Tuesday's City Council meeting.

If adopted, the city would spend around $91.1 million during the 2022 fiscal year and $95.4 million during the 2023 fiscal year. A combined $75.1 million in expenditures will be spent from the city’s general fund, which "covers the costs of providing the majority of city services," according to the plan.

Public safety makes up the highest expenditure category in the city with the Glendora Police Department planning to spend around $38.8 million in the next two years.

A major source of the city’s revenue is derived from taxes, including property, sales and business taxes. City officials expect to bring in around $76 million over the next two years from taxes alone.

Charges for services are the city's second highest source of revenue, according to the budget plan. The charges are made up of services provided by different city departments including police, public works and planning. Around $67.9 million is expected to be raised from these charges.
