FULL STREET CLOSURE: LORAINE AVE. AT RAILROAD CROSSING MAY 12 - AUGUST 26, 2021

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY
Crews will be fully rebuilding the railroad crossing on Loraine Ave. in the city of Glendora, as part of the 9.1-mile Foothill Gold Line light rail project. This work requires a full closure of Loraine Ave. at the railroad crossing for approximately 3 1/2 months, including the permanent closure and removal of the City Maintenance Yard access road, the land is part of the Foothill Gold Line light rail project and will be fully utilized for its completion.

WHEN

• Beginning Wednesday, May 12th and continuing daily thru August 26, 2021, Loraine Ave. will be fully closed to all traffic (vehicular and pedestrian) at the railroad crossing 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Route 66 (just south of the crossing) and Lemon Ave. (north of the crossing) will remain open and accessible by way of detour routes.
• Crews plan to work daily during double shift hours of 7:00 AM - 12:00 AM (Midnight), Monday - Saturday. NOTE: Occasional longer work hours and construction on Sundays may be performed during the closure period.

TRAFFIC ADVISORIES

• Loraine Ave. will be fully closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic at the railroad crossing.
• City Maintenance Yard access road will be permanently closed.
• Access to homes and businesses on Loraine Ave. within the closure area north and south of the railroad crossing will be maintained at all times.

PLAN YOUR ROUTE AND BE PREPARED

• A detour route (see map below) will be in place during the closure and signage will be posted to direct motorists and pedestrians. Please follow detour signs.
• Loraine Ave. will be fully closed to all traffic at the railroad crossing between Route 66 and Lemon Ave.
• Elwood Ave. (northbound and southbound) will serve as the main detour route, see details below.
• Route 66 (eastbound and westbound) will remain open to all traffic.
• Lemon Ave. (eastbound and westbound) will remain open to all traffic.

NOTE TO RESIDENTS / BUSINESS OWNERS

• Noise from construction equipment will be produced near the active work zones.
