Glendora Police Chief Announces Retirement

After more than three decades of service in law enforcement, Glendora’s first female chief of police, Lisa Rosales, has announced her retirement as a law enforcement professional. Her last day in office will be Feb. 18. Chief Rosales has worked in law enforcement with the City of Pasadena Police Department as a Commander, as Chief of Police for the City of San Pablo, and as Chief of Police in Glendora. Chief Rosales truly rose from the ranks, having held a variety of positions from patrol; detective and administrative services, along with the ranks of Officer; Corporal; Sergeant; Lieutenant, Commander, and twice as a Chief of Police. Chief Rosales holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of San Diego and an M.P.A. from the University of La Verne.

In making her announcement Chief Rosales noted “I have served three amazing communities over the course of 33 years and have been a Chief for six of those years. Thank you for allowing me the honor to make a difference in the lives of others. I want to thank my family for supporting me through the rigors of this profession. Now it is time to focus on them; I’m looking forward to being a full-time “Grammy.” I plan on staying connected with the honorable field of law enforcement in one way or another; whether it’s teaching, mentoring, or consulting.”

“The City of Glendora has appreciated Chief Rosales and her dedication to her community, the City of Glendora and to the women and men of the Glendora Police Department,” noted Mayor Judy Nelson. City Manager Adam Raymond added that Chief Rosales “Has been a wonderful professional to work with. From day one, Chief Rosales was dedicated to her profession and always searching for ways to take the Police Department to next level and make the community safer.”

Upon the retirement of Chief Rosales, Captain Matt Egan will assume the Acting Police Chief role.
