Glendora Teen Heads Nonprofit To Help Food Insecure: Report
Mihir Anand told KABC he was inspired to help the food insecure after noticing a lot of unpicked fruit in his Glendora neighborhood one day.
Mihir Anand wants to help thousands of people from going hungry — one piece of fruit at a time.
The 18-year-old Glendora resident launched a nonprofit organization in 2017 called Fruitfully Yours, which took the fruit that would’ve gone unpicked and uneaten from homes and put it into the hands of the hungry, according to a report from KABC. Anand would get the fruit by going to the homes of willing participants who allowed their fruit trees to be picked.
More than 47,000 pounds of fruit have been distributed by the nonprofit to roughly 35,000 people across the Southland, according to the news station.
