'Cool, Unsettled Weather' On Tap: Half Moon Bay Weekend Forecast
Scattered showers, possible thunderstorms and lowering snow levels are all to be expected in the coming days, officials say.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Scattered showers, possible thunderstorms and lowering snow levels are all to be expected in the coming days across the Bay Area, the National Weather Service reports. The weekend will make way for "slightly warmer temperatures" — but don't let that fool you. Forecasters predict that "cooler, unsettled weather" will potentially return early next week.
The National Weather Service said in its forecast discussion that a cold weather system from Canada doesn't appear to have a lot of moisture with it, so "widely scattered showers" may hit the Bay Area Thursday. Thanks to the cold, snow levels are expected to drop to just 1,800 feet.
"Dry conditions are forecast over the weekend, along with gradual warming," the agency said. "Even with the expected warming, temperatures will be about five degrees cooler than normal this weekend as a cool northwest flow persists across California."
