Drugs, Loaded Weapon Found In Coastside DUI Stop, Police Say

Pacifica police say the driver was found to be under the influence of drugs when they stopped him in town.

PACIFICA, CA — Officers found drugs and a loaded gun in the vehicle of a 28-year-old man after pulling him over on suspicion of driving under the influence in Pacifica on Sunday night, police said.

The traffic stop occurred around 9:50 p.m. on Fassler Avenue at Roberts Road and officers identified the driver as Pacifica resident Brandan Guaspari, according to police.

Police said Guaspari showed symptoms of being under the influence of drugs — and they soon found drugs on him and elsewhere in his vehicle, along with evidence that he was selling the illegal items.

"When conducting a search of ... Guaspari, officers found controlled substances on his person," police said in a news release. "Then, when conducting a search of his vehicle, the officers found other controlled substances along with evidence that Guaspari had been involved in the sales of controlled substances."

Police said they also found a "modified loaded firearm" under the driver's seat.

Guaspari was booked into San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of DUI, possession of controlled substances for sale, possessing a short-barrel rifle, and having a concealed weapon in a vehicle, police said.
