Lows In The 40s: Half Moon Bay's Christmas Week Weather Forecast
Rain was expected to hit the region Monday and temperatures will drop after the storm moves out. Will it dry out in time for Santa?
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — If you're planning to celebrate Christmas on the Peninsula this week, it appears it'll be a dry and cool one — despite the showers on Monday. While isolated thunderstorms were forecast to hit the Bay Area through Christmas Eve, the storm is expected to roll out by Tuesday.
"Gusty winds area will develop behind the cold front later Monday and Monday night," the National Weather Service said in its forecast discussion. "Christmas Day is forecast to be dry and seasonably cool, with brisk winds. Dry, cool, and breezy conditions are forecast to persist for the remainder of the week, and probably into next weekend, too."

Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 4pm. High near 60. Breezy, with a south wind 17 to 23 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tonight
Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 10pm, then a chance of showers. Low around 46. Breezy, with a west wind 23 to 28 mph becoming north northwest 14 to 19 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
