HALF MOON BAY, CA — As wildfires rage on across the state, the smoke-filled skies of Northern California have turned to a darkened orange, which makes for some unique photographic opportunities.

Patch reader Brook Stein captured this image at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Half Moon Bay looking out at Pillar Point Harbor from Miramar.

As firefighters continue to battle the blazes, this photograph is a reminder of how nature is impacted — sometimes in unexpected ways — by fire and intense smoke. Thanks for sharing, Brook.
