Emergency Crews Respond to Water Rescue at Half Moon Bay State Beach

San Mateo County fire crews and an ambulance have been dispatched to the scene.

Update 6:25 p.m.:

Emergency crews responded to a water rescue shortly after 3:30 p.m. Monday.

The Half Moon Bay Review reports that everyone is fine and that first responders credit a Half Moon Bay surfer, Johnny Sousa, with saving two kids who were being swept out just north of Francis State Beach.

San Mateo County fire crews are helping at least one person in the water in Half Moon Bay this afternoon, a dispatcher said.

The incident was called in around 3:45 p.m. near where Kelly Avenue ends at the beach, the dispatcher said.

An ambulance has been dispatched to the scene, she said.
