Additional Events Announced For Hermosa Beach Summer Series

HERMOSA BEACH, CA — Additional on-site experiences were added to the 2019 Hermosa Beach Summer Series, 5B Artists + Media announced Wednesday. The popular, free community event is returning to the sand for two weekends in August — and for the first time, will be both Saturday and Sunday each weekend, from August 17-18 and August 24-25.

It will be two weekends full of music, comedy, movies on the beach and other family-friendly experiences, the press release said. New to the event this year is South Bay Brew Ha Ha (for 21 and older), curated by craft brew event producers Brew Ha Ha Productions. The beer garden will feature South Bay locals Hermosa Brew Co., Three Weavers, King Harbor, LA Ale Works, Smog City, Phantom Carriage and more, plus upgraded experiences from KYLA Hard Kombucha, Arriba Chelada, and the Bang Energy Caveand Soju Lounge bar.

"We are excited to be part of the Hermosa Beach Summer Series! Southern California has a reputation of brewing some of the best beer in the world and the South Bay has made a gigantic impact on that reputation. The term 'drink local' is often used in the craft beer community, on August 17, 18, 24 and 25 that is exactly what we’re going to do," Brew Ha Ha Productions founder Cameron Collins said. "Come out and raise a glass with us and enjoy local beers from King Harbor, LA Ale Works, Smog City, Phantom Carriage and more."

The wine partner for the series is Caduceus Cellars/Merkin Vineyards, the award-winning winery founded by Maynard James Keenan, frontman of acclaimed rock bands Tool and A Perfect Circle, the press release said.

Additional on-site experiences will include daily health and wellness activities such as Soho Morning Yoga, Sexy Brand Beach Tennis, and Coast Fitness workouts, 5B Artists+Media said. There will also be movies on the beach, presented by Hermosa Beach Friends of the Parks, on Saturday, August 17 and Saturday, August 24. Guests can enjoy activations from LA Galaxy, Arrowhead Brand Mountain Spring Water, Beach Cities Rover, Blender's Eyewear, BOS Ice Tea, Essentia Water, Keller-Williams, LA Libations, Vital Proteins as well as a general store.

Visitors can also check out the Food Truck Encounter with tastes from Black Flour Crepes, Brew Wings, Daddy's Best Froyo, Dogtown Dogs, Habit Burger, Roll'n Lobster, Triple Threat Truck and more. Free purified water will be available to attendees courtesy of Rocean at a vending station near the beach.

Heal the Bay will host community beach cleanups each morning, with support from Fusion Academy.
