HERMOSA BEACH, CA – The following is a collection of weekly police, court and fire stories from around the Hermosa Beach area this week.

The man was pronounced dead at the hospital, coroner's Lt. Larry Dietz said.

The Redondo Beach Fire Department was on the scene to extinguish the flames, according to authorities.

The grant will help reduce youth access to alcohol and increase safety in the community through education and prevention programs.

Thomas Kim, 77, died early Sunday morning at the jail ward at the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center.
