Memorial Day Holiday Safety Tips: The L.A. County Department of Public Health (Public Health) today encouraged people to prepare for a safe Memorial Day holiday this weekend by being vaccinated. Public Health said that keeping get-togethers in line with Public Health safety guidelines is much simpler when everyone at a gathering is vaccinated because people can gather outdoors or inside without any masking or distancing requirements. Public Health said that if any of the guests at a gathering are unvaccinated, they should wear masks and keep a distance from people in other households. In these situations, Public Health said that gathering outdoors with at most 100 others is safest, and indoor gatherings should keep the numbers lower, at 50% of capacity or 50 people, whichever is fewer. Public Health also encouraged people to enjoy L.A. County’s beaches, movie theaters, amusement parks, campgrounds, certified farmers’ markets, live events, museums, family entertainment centers and holiday sales over the three-day weekend holiday.Â
