Could It Be True? Are Life Savers California's Favorite Halloween Treat?

The favorite trick-or-treat candy in California is Life Savers? Really? Not Kit Kat, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups or Snickers? But Life Savers?

According to a ranking by Influenster, an online product review site, it’s Life Savers that’s the Golden State’s most popular Halloween candy.

Perhaps it’s wishful thinking since we need the rain or people prepping for the monster El Niño we’re expecting this year -- but really? Life Savers?

Not that the hard candy is a bad choice, mind you. Georgia’s favorite Halloween candy is the Pixy Stix, so there’s that.

According to Yahoo, Influenster polled more than 40,000 people from across the country, which raises the question, who are these 40,000 and how could they be so wrong?

Some of the other findings included:

• Candy corn was No. 1 in five states, including neighboring South Carolina and Tennessee.
• Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups were the most popular across the survey, with 4,348 votes.
• Hershey’s Kisses were No. 1 in Mississippi, while Airheads (?) were tops in Alabama.
