Famed radio and TV host and producer Dick Clark has died, according to reports from TMZ.com and local TV station KABC, channel 7.
Clark, whose health had declined since having a stroke in 2004, reportedly died of a massive heart attack. He was 82 years old.
Millions of Americans grew up watching his signature show "American Bandstand," which helped bring many classic rock and roll acts to prominence. More recent generations will remember ringing in the New Year with Clark's annual "New Year's Rockin' Eve" special, which Clark handed over to Ryan Seacrest in 2006.
