Get A $5 Sandwich From Mickey's Deli For Nat'l Sandwich Month
Is the $5 deal at Mickey's Italian Deli in Hermosa Beach better than a $5 Footlong from those other guys?
HERMOSA BEACH, CA – August is National Sandwich Month, and Mickey's Italian Delicatessen in Hermosa Beach is celebrating with a deal. One of their first sandwiches ever made (and a best seller) is only $5 throughout the entire month of August, the press release said.
The sandwich is made up of Cotto Salami, Chopped Ham, Bologna, Swiss Cheese, Mustard, Mayo, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, Peppercini's and Red Onion. It's a great sandwich for a day at the beach, or when you're on the go.
The founder, Mickey, opened the deli in 1953 when he was 22-years-old with a small loan from his father and the $2000 he had saved up on his own, according to the press release. The deli quickly became a favorite among local surfers that loved Mickey's infamous "Sauce Sandwich." After Mickey passed away in 2001, his son, Paul, still carries on the family tradition and continues to be a favorite among the locals, the press release said. Mickey's Deli makes authentic Italian food including a variety of sandwiches, pizza, various pastas, salads and calzones.
