Grades of Green Youth Corps Students Plant 100 Trees!

Grades of Green students & brother-sister duo, Max and Reece, plant trees along the HB Greenbelt with the help of 6th grade class!

Next time you’re running down the Hermosa Beach Greenbelt, take a look at the new addition of one hundred (yep, 1-0-0!) native trees now lining the pathway. Grades of Green Youth Corps students, Max and Reece, set out to plant 100 trees as their Grades of Green Project. Over the course of the last year, the Youth Corps students have led three tree planting days with the help of Hermosa Valley students, local community members and other Grades of Green Youth Corps students.

Max and Reece’s Grades of Green Project will help make the air a little cleaner, prevent soil erosion, and provide shade and habitat for native bird species. Congratulations to Max and Reece for leading and completing this feat, and thank you to the community members and Hermosa Valley 6th graders for making it possible.
