Hermosa Beach Architect Turned Artist Opening His Own Gallery
What has started out a hobby now has turned into a passion that he describes as "extreme coastal, inspired by urban grit and surf culture."

HERMOSA BEACH, CA -- Architect turned artist Daniel J. Janotta is having a grand-opening celebration of his art gallery, Janotta Gallery, this Saturday.
Janotta started to expand his artistic talents by designing furniture and then focusing on painting as a hobby, according to the Beach Reporter. What has started out a hobby now has turned into a passion that he describes as “extreme coastal, inspired by urban grit and surf culture,” according to the Beach Reporter.
“As an artist, I'm not doing something that's abstract, I try to bring in a little bit of reality to that so you can recognize it,” Janotta told the Beach Reporter. “It's not purely a beautiful scene, but it's actually incorporating figures into it that are a little bit more edgy.”
